Anstey restaurant Sapori is celebrating after picking up the 'Best Pasta' accolade at the 2017 English Italian Awards, which took place at the weekend.
The award was judged on a single dish, and Sapori's head chef and co-patron, Andrea Scarpati, triumphed with his spaghetti alla chitarra with lamb pizzaiola.
It was the second consecutive year that the restaurant has won the Best Pasta award. This year, it was also runner up in the Chef of the Year category, and was a finalist in the Best Restaurant category.
Andrea said: "We are proud to win Best Pasta at the Italian Awards two years in a row, but are also humbled by the achievement of being awarded the runner up place for Chef of the Year as well as being a finalist for Best Restaurant.
"It is extremely satisfying to have my passion and dedication to my work rewarded in this way as I love what I do and I firmly believe Sapori will always be one of the best Italian restaurants in the country."
Andrea is head chef and co-patron with Luigi Riccardi, and Cristina Riccardi is managing director of the restaurant, in Stadon Road, Anstey.
