Sapori Restaurant & Bar Crowned Best Italian Restaurant In Midlands

Sapori Restaurant & Bar has picked up a prestigious honour at a glittering ceremony at Birmingham’s Edgbaston Cricket Stadium.

The Midlands Food, Drink & Hospitality Awards are aimed at celebrating the great work done at the very best eateries, restaurants, hotels and bars across central England. The popular Anstey restaurant was shortlisted for the Best Italian Restaurant award after a public vote put them in the region’s top 5.

A tough judging process included a visit from a mystery diner, who commended Sapori on their authentic Italian fine dining experience.

The Sapori team were crowned as the Best Italian Restaurant in the Midlands in front of hundreds of key food and drink industry professionals last night.

“We know that we offer something different to other Italian restaurants in the Midlands and beyond” said Chef Patron Andrea Scarpati. “The authenticity of our Italian cooking is paramount to us. Winning another award shows we are doing something right and Sapori is not a flash in the pan. Since 2011 we have brought all of our dedication and passion to the restaurant and it’s fantastic to see our love for what we do is paying back.”

Luigi Riccardi, co-owner added: “We want to make sure that when a customer leaves the restaurant they will go out with something to remember! Sapori isn’t just authentic Italian fine food, it is an experience to remember.”

Sapori is Italian for ‘flavours’ and this encapsulates the character of this authentic Italian family-run restaurant. Situated in the heart of Anstey, just 10 minutes drive from Leicester city centre, Sapori offers modern and elegant Italian fine dining whilst maintaining its family values and traditions.

Opened by Chef Patron Andrea Scarpati with his wife Cristina and her brother Luigi in May 2011, Sapori has already been crowned with many awards, including Best Italian Restaurant in the country at the Italian Awards 2015 and the National Food Awards in 2016.

In March 2017, Chef Andrea was selected to become a member of CHIC, Charming Italian Chef. This is an association of many great chefs who boast more than fifty Michelin stars between them. They are dedicated to authentic and innovative Italian cuisine, and Andrea is the only UK-based member. This incredible achievement highlights the authenticity of Sapori’s menu.
